Matt has spent much of his life volunteering and serving on non-profit boards, providing leadership in organizations focused on education, childhood health and economic development.

After a 30-year successful corporate career, with almost half of that as Chief Marketing Officer of a local financial institution, Matt recently left the corporate world to build a new career teaching, consulting and writing.

D64's stated mission is to "foster opportunities for discovery, engagement, and growth for all students. We accomplish this by nurturing interdependence, appreciation of differences, and care for self and others." We need to avoid distractions that take Staff away from that mission. It is the Board's duty to help the District maintain that focus.

We hire professionals for a reason. They are experts in their field. We go to a doctor when we’re sick. We hire architects and engineers to build our homes and offices. We hire police officers and firefighters to protect our families. Why would we hire professional educators and administrators and not let them do their jobs?
